Rosecrance Recognized by AT&T, Gets $1,000 Check

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A generous donation to the Rosecance Foundation in Rockford means the rehab facility will be able to provide better care for patients.

Rosecance received a $1,000 check from AT&T Thursday. It's part of the company's "Investing in Illinois Award" which recognizes organizations and programs that are improving the lives of people in their communities.

Rosecrance's Senior Vice President Lynne Vass says the money will be used to expand the music therapy program for adult patients.

"We know if our patients in treatment find that they can have fun in recovery they can enjoy themselves with out using drugs and alcohol. They'll be much more successful in their recovery and music is one of the ways that when they leave treatment they can find joy and contentment," Vass said.

State Senator Dave Syverson nominated Rosecrance for the award.
