ROCKFORD (WIFR) – Harsher regulations on e-cigarettes are affecting businesses across the state and here in Rockford.
“Since the start of the new year, all businesses are required to have e-cigs locked and behind the counter. E-juice refills have to follow the same rules and also need to be in child-proof packaging. The new laws were passed in August and are part of the Illinois Poison Prevention Packaging Act. Wisconsin legislators also want to add e-cigarettes to their state’s indoor smoking ban.
“I think it makes a difference. Before we would have trouble with kids. Parents would bring their kids in and they would try to touch the testers. So the plus side is they can’t do that anymore and it allows us to be more interactive with our customers,” said Juan Machado at One Stop Vapor.
