NWIBT Shows Support for New Rockford Schools

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A local labor union is hoping voters say yes to freeing up some money for new schools.

The Northwestern Illinois Building and Construction Trades Group is backing the Rockford School District ballot referendum asking voters to give the RPS 205 school board the power to shift nearly $140 million its capital projects funds to build new schools.

The group wants to make it clear that the money already exists and the referendum wouldn't raise taxes or cost more money. Instead just letting the school board use it for this project.
