JANESVILLE (WIFR) – A man is arrested for his fifth OWI after police say he was driving drunk while on a moped.
Lynn Stewart III is charged with fifth offense operating while intoxicated after police stopped the moped at the intersection of McKinley Street and Linn Street.
According to Janesville Police, an officer was patrolling the area of Center Avenue and Rockport Road around 8 p.m. on Friday when he saw a moped weaving on the road, nearly crashing from the driver swerving and over-correcting.
Police say Stewart refused field sobriety tests, telling the officer “There is no way I’ll pass.”
Janesville Police say Stewart’s blood alcohol level is unknown, pending the analysis of his legal blood draw. Stewart is currently being held at The Rock County Jail on the felony charge.
