Giant Dinosaur Puppet Comes to Paleofest

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Dinosaurs are coming back to life this weekend as we get a chance to learn more about the creatures that lived thousands of years ago.

This weekend dino lovers are flocking to the Burpee Museum for Paleofest. New this year, we can meet Roxie. Standing at more than 8 feet tall and more than 12 feet long she's a realistic dinosaur puppet.

There are a lot of hands on activities for the kids all weekend, but there are also lectures and seminars for adults.

"It's a great weekend it pulls science and the general public together and the kids actually love all the activities, the great learning experiences. The scientists actually really like meeting each other in a friendly environment and collaborating on research and sharing ideas," Maureen Mall, Executive Director of the Burpee Museum, said.

The fun continues on Sunday from 8am until 5pm. Admission is $15 dollars. It’s $7 for members.
