UPDATE: STATELINE (WIFR) – Donations are pouring in to help pay for the funeral of two victims involved in a tragic car crash that killed a grandmother and a little girl, injuring four other kids.

“It saddens me the world won’t get to see the person I got to see.”

Elizabeth Stout always hugs her students at the end of the school year at Capron Elementary.

“I don’t have biological children of my own so these are my kids.”

However, Stout didn’t realize it would be the last time she’d say goodbye to 10-year-old Alexandra Villalobos.

“She’s the sweetest girl ever. She just, she was always willing to help out a friend. She always had a smile on her face, there wasn’t a single day where she just let life get her down.”

Alexandra died from a brain injury Saturday night after a car crash on the 4th of July. It happened on Route 173 near the Village of Capron.

Alexandra’s grandmother, 58-year-old Ana Maria Alvarez-Villalobos died at the scene and four other kids in the car are still in the hospital. People in Capron have already raise more than $3,000 through a GoFundMe campaign for the Villalobos family. The goal is $10,000 in order to pay for funeral costs.

“I’m not surprised by the fundraising efforts. Capron is a town where everyone comes together in a time like this.”

It’s that support Stout says she hopes will help Alexandra’s family heal.

Stout says she plans to hold a memorial for Alexandra during their school picnic this summer. The funeral for Alexandra and her grandmother is tomorrow, July 10, 2014.
