Boys and Girls Club Gets Ready for Baseball Season

ROCKFORD (WIFR) – It’s baseball season and some U.S. Cellular associates help local kids get ready to play ball.

Over a dozen volunteers helped prepare the Boys and Girls Club baseball fields for little league season by painting, picking up trash, and cleaning the fields. The Boys and Girls Club of Rockford also receives a $5,000 donation from the company for academic programs at the Flodin and Blackhawk Boys and Girls Clubs.

“They're a lot of help if they hadn't come out we probably would've been out here for three days doing all this work by ourselves so we really appreciate them coming out here and helping us out,” says Boys and Girls Club Group Leader Jacob Pohill.

The volunteer’s work today is a part of U.S. Cellular’s national program to help support the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
