VanVleet one of three finalists for NBA Sixth Man of the Year
After a breakout season with the Raptors, Rockford native Fred VanVleet has been named as one of three finalists for the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year award.
VanVleet joins the Rockets' Eric Gordon and the Clippers' Lou Williams as nominees.
The Auburn grad finished his second year with Toronto averaging more than eight points, two rebounds and three assists per game.
VanVleet led his team during the regular season shooting better than 41 percent from three.
The winner will be announed June 25 at the NBA Awards.
