"This Girl" post highlights sportsmanship of Hononegah's Butler

A Facebook post titled "This Girl" was written about Hononegah senior basketball player Aeris Butler, and it's gone viral, sharing the message of her spirit of sportsmanship.

The senior might not be the star of the team, or a regular starter, but she's being highlighted for her positive spirit as a teammate. The post was written by Kristi Powers, a Wisconsin woman who happend to be at Monday's Super-Sectional win by the Indians.

The post has more than 1,500 shares on Facebook. Butler played in just the final 30 seconds of Hononegah's 50-33 win., but her energy on the bench is what stood out to Powers.

With the Indians just days away from making their first ever appearance in the state tournament, Butler says she's just doing her part.

"I didn't expect it to get as big as it was," Butler said. "I mean, I'm just here for my teammates and I'm just trying to be as encouraging as I can."

"Even if I don't get on the court, I just want to be there for my team," Butler continued. "They're my priority."
