The force is strong in Icehogs win over Rampage

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- The Icehogs aren't letting their recent slide let them lose focus of the playoff picture.

Rockford entered play today with 56 points, one shy of a playoff spot behind San Diego.

A pair of power play goals in the first and two even-strength goals in the second proved to be enough to snap a four-game losing streak.

Even after San Antonio made a run late to pull within a goal, Colin Delia did just enough to get the 4-3 victory.

"Of course we'd like it to be a little more comfortable at the end, but I don't think we can be too picky right now" said Icehogs head coach Jeremy Colliton. "So, it's nice to get the points and hopefully we can build on it."

One player looking to build on a successful Sunday is Nathan Noel. The 20-year-old scored his first goal in the AHL against the Rampage.

"It's a lot of pressure off your shoulders getting the first one, definitely" said Noel. "I mean, even if guys don't say it, it's tough seeing zeroes on the board. But no, it's great, it's great to get the first one out of the way."
