ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) Harlem had a few big games on the day, but St. Charles North's consistency edged out the Huskies to win the Jefferson Sectional at Don Carter Lanes on Saturday.
Harlem entered the final game of the day with an 80-pin lead. However, a 930 in game six opened the door for the North Stars, who averaged a 1,055 over the six games, to complete the comeback.
Defending state champions Hononegah got off to a sluggish start, which ultimately put the Indians behind the ten pin. Hononegah has never won a sectional plaque.
The Indians did have one bright spot. Sophomore Cameron Tyler rolled the only perfect game of the day.
Oregon's Austin Strite followed up his Freeport regional win with a sectional crown as well.
Auburn is headed back to the state meet for the first time in three years with a fifth place finish.
Other area bowlers headed down state next week include Jefferson senior Landen Cowell and Belvidere North senior Justin Bragg.
