Rivets to continue play under new stadium ownership

Rivets Stadium's new owners have notified the Rockford baseball team that it can continue operating as normal.
River Rock Properties of Illinois LLC purchased the stadium from Northside Community Bank for $820,000.
According to General Manager Chad Bauer, the front office recently met with the property's new owners for the first time since the sale.
The 2018 season will be the third year of a five year lease for the Rivets.
The 2017 season was another step in the right direction for the franchise as attendance grew by 30 percent.
The Northwoods League team opens play on May 29th.
