ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- With the help of USA Swimming, the Rockford Marlins hosted a clinic Saturday that featured a pair of Olympic medalists.
Five-time Olympic medalist Josh Davis and two-time Olympic medalist Elizabeth Beisel were the special guest speakers and teachers at Eisenhower Middle School. It's part of the USA Swimming BREAKOUT Swim Clinic.
The two Olympians talked to the kids about their experiences and held a question and answer session before jumping in the pool to learn from the best.
"To see the light bulb moments, like, oh they figured something out with their technique. And oh they figured out something with the dive or the turn, that's everything to us", said Davis. "I tell people, it's really fun to win a gold medal, I highly recommend everybody does it. But there is something that feels better than winning a gold medal, and that's when I am able to connect and inspire the next generation of swimmers."
