POPLAR GROVE, Ill. (WIFR) High school football is having its final hoorah of 2018 as players around the country make their decisions known on national signing day and one of the Stateline's best quarterbacks is among them.
North Boone's Britton Morris signed on the dotted line to join East grad Brock Spack at Illinois State.
The Vikings' QB led the Big Northern this past season with 3,131 yards through the air and 36 touchdowns along with 544 yards rushing and 13 more TD's on the ground.
While Morris will join the Redbirds as a preferred walk-on, he says he is walking onto campus with a chip on his shoulder.
"I'm not going into it being content as the back-up and the walk-on," said Morris. "I think you have to go into it with the mentality that you want to start and you want to compete. It's not realistic but I don't want to go in there being content with anything. They're not giving me any money. They're just giving me an open door so the harder I work, the more I will get."
