NIC-10 continues to dominate boys bowling

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) It's the best conference in boys bowling. The NIC-10 has won four of the last five state championships. The 2018-19 versions of the top teams in the conference will have plenty of kinks to work out before the state tournament in January.

Hononegah loses its entire starting five. The Indians will lean on senior Jacob Sommer as the anchor. Hononegah has the largest high school bowling program in the country with 48 participants.

Harlem is out for redemption after last year's fifth place finish at state. The Huskies do lose some fire power, but do have a few returning bowlers like Josh Roth and Noah Mandujano to guide the way.

Freeport is coming off its best finish at state since winning it all in 2008. The Pretzels took home the state runner-up trophy last season. However, Freeport enters this year in what head coach John Kreeger calls a rebuilding year. The Pretzels will depend heavily on Ty Collalti. The sophomore has already thrown six perfect games in less than two years of varsity bowling.
