ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Rockford Lutheran junior Courtney Sockwell dominated at the Girls Track and Field State Final.

She didn't just bring home a medal, she brought home two golds and set a state record.

Sockwell's blazing fast time at the 100 meter dash of 11.95 seconds broke the class 1A record , it also gave her an added boost of confidence going into the 200. Sockwell didn't lose a single race in either event all year, so she expected and hoped she'd win those state titles, but even she was surprised at her times.

"When I turned around and saw my time, I was like "What? I ran that? And when I saw that, I said 'this is crazy, I just did that.' I looked at my parents and I was like 'did you see that? I just did that.' And just knowing that it really built up my confidence for the 200. It was just an amazing time at state, I had a really good time," said Sockwell.
