Lena-Winslow's Ormiston to walk-on with Iowa

LENA, Ill. (WIFR) Sean Ormiston went on plenty of big runs in his time at Lena-Winslow and now he hopes to do the same at Iowa.

The Panthers running back and linebacker signed with the Hawkeyes Wednesday afternoon to be a preferred walk-on with the program.

Ormiston is fresh off of an all-state season with Le-Win where he broke the NUIC rushing record and scored six touchdowns in the 1A title game.

He says it's going to be tough, but he's ready.

"I don't like getting things easy obviously, but working hard and competing is what football and sports is all about so that's why I want to keep playing," said Ormiston. "Why not go play at one of the best colleges in the country and compete at the highest level?"
