IceHogs win on Autism Awareness night for second straight victory

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) Less than two minutes into the third period, Terry Broadhurst broke a 1-1 tie and the IceHogs went on to add an empty-netter for a 3-1 win over Iowa on Saturday at the BMO Harris Bank Center.

The win gives Rockford back-to-back wins for the first time since the team won three straight in the middle of December.

Josh McArdle earned the secondary assist on the game-winning goal, giving the Roscoe native assists on back-to-back nights for his first two points in the AHL.

Anton Forsberg gave up a goal late in the second period to the game at one. The netminder made 33 saves on 34 shots to earn his ninth win of the year.

The IceHogs head into the All-Star break feeling good about getting four points in the standings. The win puts them in a tie for sixth with San Antonio at 46 points. However, the Rampage do have a game in hand. Rockford sits five points out of a playoff spot behind fourth place Milwaukee.

The Hogs return to action Friday, February 1 at home against Chicago.
