ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) Professional hockey in the Stateline will soon return to the BMO Harris Bank Center. The IceHogs home-opener isn't until October 13, but we still don't know who will suit up for Rockford.
The Blackhawks trimmed their training camp to 33 over the weekend. Household names to the Rockford-area like Tyler Sikura and Anthony Louis returned to the Forest City.
Jeremy Colliton enters his second season as head coach of the IceHogs. He says he's excited for the upcoming year, but also understands there will be a learning curve for everyone heading into year two.
"What are final group looks like, I don't know. But we'll be counting on second and third year guys to take a big leadership role and sort of drive the mentality of our group," said Colliton. "We want to play at a high pace, we want to have the puck all the time, we want to play in the offensive zone. I think there's no reason we can't continue that."
