ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) The IceHogs will try to bounce back from a disappointing weekend at home when Rockford heads to Milwaukee on Friday, before returning to the BMO Harris Bank Center on Saturday.
The Hogs picked up just one point out of a possible four last weekend with a regulation loss to Cleveland and a shootout loss to Manitoba. Rockford returned to practice on Tuesday eager to get after it, but without key skaters in Matthew Highmore and Carl Dahlstrom. Both left with injuries in Sunday's loss to the Moose.
"Defensively, we're much more under control. We're getting more comfortable with coverage in the D-zone, giving up fewer Grade-A opportunities," said Colliton.
With a pair of division games coming up, head coach Jeremy Colliton knows it's a big weekend for his team.
"I think we're winning pucks back quicker in that end of the ice, now the next step is to break out clean so you don't have to play as much down there. So, it's going to take time. We're patiently impatient here and hopefully we see some more steps forward."
