Highmore "making progress" in post-surgery rehab

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) IceHogs forward Matthew Highmore is feeling good about the progress he is making after having shoulder surgery.

The 22-year-old has returned to the ice in recent weeks, but has been out of the lineup since October after falling awkwardly on his shoulder.

"It's been tough," said Highmore. "The guys have been really good with keeping me part of the team and I try to hang out with them as much as possible. Sometimes giving feedback, helping out in the room, just trying to do my part as much as I can from the sidelines and just go from there. I still feel very much a part of this team and that's very nice."

Before going on the shelf, Highmore scored three goals and added four assists in eight games.
