MT. PROSPECT, Ill. (WIFR) A bit on the chilly side for golf, but the girls teed off at Mt. Prospect Golf Course on Monday in search of a ticket to state.
After losing the tiebreaker to her younger sister Kayla for medalist honors at the Harlem Regional, Katelyn Sayyalinh came out and shot a 73, good for a tie for third overall. This will be back-to-back trips to state for the senior.
Another golfer making her return to the state tournament is Harlem's Brighton Young. The junior will be making her third straight appearance in Decatur and second with the Huskies after shooting a 78.
Rockford Co-Op finished the sectional in eighth with a team score of 351.
