FRANKLIN CENTER, Ill. (WIFR) Ashton-Franklin Center is a little more moderate when it comes to its expectations for this year because, at this point, there are none.
The Raiders have one winning season over the last 12 years and went 3-6 in the NUIC Upstate in 2017.
Rather than getting bogged down with any grand goals, head coach Brad Winterland has his players focused on the opponent at hand.
"Last year with that large senior group, we sort of got caught up in ending the playoff drought and it kind of took its toll on us emotionally and mentally," said Winterland. "We're not messing around with any of that stuff. We're here to get better every single day, we're here to help these guys play the game of football and do things the right way and get back to being fundamentally sound in practice and playing hard."
