It is never easy to beat a team three times in one season. Dakota did just that on Friday in the Class 1A Polo Regional Final against Pecatonica, 57-49.

The Indians have now won 19-straight games and set a new school record for wins in a season with 28. It's their first regional title since 2014.

"Before the game," said senior Evan Flynn, "I was telling my dad how nervous I was and he goes 'Just take a moment and look around and tell yourself how awesome this all is. Soak it all in.' I did that a couple times and it kept me sane and I think it kept all our guys sane."

Flynn also had a chance to reflect on his battle on the court with Pecatonica senior Austin Carlson. The two played travel basketball on the same team in the summer.

"I didn't want to play him because he's one of my best friends. I told him that I love him and that he's a hell of a player."

Dakota will take on Fulton on Tuesday, March 3 at 7 p.m. in the Class 1A River Ridge Sectional Semifinals.
