Dach to skate with IceHogs on rehab assignment in home opener

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) Chicago Blackhawks fans will have to wait a little longer to see Kirby Dach in action at the United Center. The third overall pick in this year's NHL Entry Draft will make his professional debut with the IceHogs on a rehab assignment in Rockford's home opener tonight.

Dach, 18, was sidelined with a concussion sustained on Sept. 10. He has since started skating with the Blackhawks in recent practices. However, the organization has kept him out of the lineup until fully healthy.

This will be a rare opportunity for IceHogs fans to see this Blackhawks prospect in Rockford. Due to his age, Dach is not eligible to play in the AHL this season.

Last year, Dach posted 25 goals and 38 assists, good for 73 points in 62 games with his junior hockey team, the Saskatoon Blades of the WHL.

You can watch Dach's debut on 23.2 Antenna TV, starting with IceHogs Warm-Up at 5:30, puck drop is set for 6 p.m.
