ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) Boylan won its first regional title on Wednesday night by beating Jefferson 25-11, 25-19 at East High School.
The Titans kept their perfect run against NIC-10 opposition together and never lost a set against any conference foe in 2019.
"It's been a long time coming and after three years of playing varsity, this is our first regional championship for our team and for the school overall," said senior Gabe DeBenedetto. "It's just a feeling like no other."
"It means everything," said senior Parker Nelson. "I think senior year and making history for the Boylan Catholic Titans is such a blessing and such a blessing to be with the boys. It's a golden feeling truly."
Only five NIC-10 boys volleyball programs have ever made it to sectionals, but are 0-5 all time.
Boylan gets its chance against Barrington Friday at 5:30 p.m. inside the Harlem High School gym.
