ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) A big part of Auburn's success this season is East transfer Mariah Hill and, while she has a busy week ahead of her, she wanted to get one important event out of the way.
The senior captain signed her letter of intent to continue her playing career at Rock Valley College Thursday afternoon.
Hill is an integral part of Auburn's season as the team owns a one game lead in the conference with a 20-5 overall record.
In 20 games with with the Knights this year, Hill is third on the squad with 11 points per game and leads the team in assists, steals and blocks.
She says one of the deciding factors to join RVC is former Auburn head coach Darryl Watkins and she has one more goal to achieve before joining the Golden Eagles.
"Rock Valley is a successful program," said Hill. "I know Darryl personally and I know he's a good coach and I feel like I can fit in. Even though we were competing against each other, he was still helping build my character. It feels amazing, but we're not going to stop here. We want to go to state and we want to win state."
