Angler's Edge hosts Spring Fling Bass Tournament

BELOIT, Wis. (WIFR) The Angler's Edge Spring Fling Bass Tournament took place at Wooton Park in Beloit Sunday morning.

Eight teams of two set out at 6:00 a.m. with a $1,000 prize on the line. Anglers were given eight hours to catch up to as many as five fish, any combination of small mouth or large mouth bass.

The winning duo had a total weight of just over 13 lbs. The biggest bass came in at 3.38 lbs. Angler's Edge owner E.J. Dilonardo said fishing is the perfect family sport.

"To have people come out and be able to fish and not be home working in the yard and doing the things we all should be doing on a great day like this, it was really fantastic," said Dilonardo. "The young children come out, they get to see their dad or their mom fishing and having fun. A lot of times they'll go out on the boats with them and be with them. It's one of the inexpensive things you can do. You don't need a boat. You can fish from the shore and it's great family time."
