2nd annual basketball tournament honors Antonio Little's memory

Rockford, Ill. (WIFR) A 2009 South Beloit graduate, Antonio Little was a standout player for the Sobos basketball team. Since Little's death in 2015, his former teammates and friends are honoring his memory and love for basketball with a tournament fundraiser.

Saturday afternoon the UW Health Sports Factory hosted the 2nd annual Antonio Little Memorial tournament. Players of all ages, from 2nd grade to adults came out to the event in downtown Rockford, which benefits the South Beloit Boosters Cub, and a scholarship in Little's name.

"Antonio loved all sports, but he really had a passion for basketball, he loved to play, but more than basketball, he cared about making a difference in the community," said Katonka Friar, a former South Beloit teammate of Little. "That's how it all goes hand in hand, we know he had a passion for the game and he also loved the kids and wanted to get people together and always have fun."

"All in all I think he would've been really happy with how it turned out," Friar said. "I think he is happy right now."
