23 Sports Ticket's 2017-18 Female Athlete of the Year

With another school year in the books, the 23 Sports Ticket reveals the nominees for the 2017-18 Female Athlete of the Year.

Kaite Asche (Durand, Sr.)
Asche took the Bulldogs to their first ever trip to state. Her 332 kills and 100 blocks helped Durand capture third place in Class 1A. She was also named to the All-State First Team.

McKenzie Brown (Boylan, Sr.)
Brown brought Boylan within one game of its first state semifinal appearance in school history. While the magic ran out in the super-sectional, Brown was named to the 4A All-State Second Team after the Titans finished at 32-1 with NIC-10, regional and sectional crowns.

Rebecca Hagerman (Harlem, Jr.)
After a 10th place finish as a sophomore, Hagerman led the Huskies to their second straight state title and also grabbed the individual crown winning by 67 pins. The junior bowler averaged more than 222 in the 12 games at the Cherry Bowl.

Natalie Hooper (Lutheran, Jr.)
The Lady Saders improved on their third place finish in 2016 thanks to the performance by Hooper. The junior golfer finished 14-over down in Decatur as she tied for fourth. Her play pushed Lutheran into second, the highest finish in school history for the girls golf team.

Jordan King (Hononegah, Jr.)
Nobody in the NIC-10 could touch King in terms of scoring as the junior led the conference with more than 21 points per game. She also led the NIC-10 in steals and blocks. King was placed on the 4A All-State Second Team as the Indians finished the season at 27-5.
