The Rockford ProAm presented a $40,000 check Wednesday to the YMCA of Rock River Valley to support foster care programs.

Rockford ProAm has selected the YMCA as this year's beneficiary. The funding will support swimming, basketball, art programs designed for foster children and their families.

"We have an immense amount of need for additonal families to sign up to become foster parents, but then also for programs and services that will help children in a difficult situation and a difficult time of life," says Brent Pentenburg, CEO of YMCA of Rock River Valley.

The YMCA will also be the beneficiary for next year. Those funds will be used for the All Inclusion Program, which helps assist children with disabilities.
