Wrong-way driver charged with 5th OWI after fleeing

BELOIT, Wis. (WIFR) - A wrong-way driver is charged with his 5th OWI after a chase involving several departments.

Beloit police say around 3 A.M. Wednesday they assisted in a chase coming from Walworth County.

Police say 28-year-old Jacob White was

driving southbound in the northbound lane of I-43 at a high rate of speed. Walworth County, Rock county, Clinton, Beloit, and Wisconsin State authorities chased White into Beloit where he crashed at LaSalle Street and White Avenue.

White was treated for minor injuries from the crash. He is being charged with his 5th OWI, resisting/obstructing, fleeing, possession of drug paraphernalia (2nd offense), and probation hold.

White is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
