ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Magical fairies took over the Womanspace grounds Saturday for an afternoon of mystical fun for the 10th annual fairy festival.
Fairies off all shapes and sizes including a bubble fairy and mermaid fairy hosted several activities for kids like creating fairy crowns and making wands and necklaces. Members from Rockford Dance Company performed and even taught a special dance to the little fairies. The event concluded with a fairy parade and a sweet treat.
"The festival like atmosphere I feel like there’s so many different activities to do, just a lot of crafts a lot of meeting different fairies. I'm the tooth fairy this time but there’s the queen fairy, we've got the blue fairy, yellow fairy all sorts and it's just a great time,” said volunteer Emma Lai.
Organizers say the festival is a great way to get people out to Womanspace to enjoy its seven acres of gardens to walk around, relax and have a magical time.
