DEKALB COUNTY, Ill. (WIFR) -- A woman suffered serious injuries in DeKalb County after being shocked by a downed power line following a crash.
Authorities say Kelsey Goodwin, 22, of Sycamore, was driving drunk when her vehicle left the road, drove into a ditch and crashed into a ComEd pole.
Goodwin got out of the vehicle, then touched a down power line and shocked herself, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office.
The crash happened around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday on Rich Road. Goodwin was taken to Kishwaukee Hospital, then airlifted to OSF Saint Anthony Hospital.
Goodwin faces DUI charges. Her injuries are serious, but non-life-threatening, according to the sheriff's office.
