ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- A 53-year-old Rockford woman receives more than a decade in prison after pleading guilty to home invasion.

On March 11, 2018, prosecutors say Zedvie Santos forced her way into a house in the 400 block of Court Street.

Once inside, Santos reportedly began beating up the male victim who opened the door before demanding all his money.

Detectives later identified Santos as the suspect.

She pleaded guilty to home invasion prior to the court deeming her guilty but mentally ill.

Santos is ordered to serve 14 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by three years of mandatory supervised release.
