Woman arrested for concealing murder of Freeport man in June

FREEPORT, Ill. (WIFR) -- A Freeport woman, wanted for more than three months for concealing a murder, was arrested in Joliet on Wednesday.

Jennifer Adams, 41, was arrested at a Motel 6 in Joliet with help from a Stateline Area Crime Stoppers tip, according to Freeport police.

Adams and her son, 23-year-old Javian Adams, are accused for the death of Thomas Fort, a 45-year-old man who was found dead​ June 5 in the 500 block of Iroquois Street.

Police say Fort was physically assaulted prior to his death. According to an autopsy, he suffered multiple facial injuries, including a fractured jaw.

Jennifer Adams was charged with concealment of homicidal death and obstructing justice. Javian Adams was arrested June 8 on three counts of first-degree murder, aggravated battery and concealment of a homicidal death.
