Woman accused of biting off man’s ear at Janesville party
A Brodhead woman is facing felony aggravated battery charge after being accused of biting off part of a man’s ear.
According to a criminal complaint, Nicole Perez bit off about one-third of the man’s ear after an argument at a party in Janesville on Friday, May 31.
Court documents state Perez and the man first got into an argument but later separated. The victim told police he later went to smoke a cigarette in the front yard of the home where the party was being held when Perez and another man jumped him from behind.
A criminal complaint details that the victim was punched several times, kicked and his hair was pulled. He told police Perez laid on top of him and bit off a portion of his right ear. The victim was able to find the bitten off part of his ear and bring it to St. Mary’s Hospital in Janesville.
Court documents state the victim was unable to have the missing portion of his ear reattached.
A signature bond was set for Perez on Tuesday. She was ordered not to have direct contact with the victim and is not allowed to drink alcohol. She is expected to appear in court again on June 19.
