'Wizard of Oz' visits Rockford in February

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- The Yellow Brick Road runs in Rockford next month as the "Wizard of Oz" musical makes a stop in town.

The musical begins at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 28 at the Coronado Performing Arts Center on 314 N. Main St.

Based on the 1939 film, the "Wizard of Oz" takes Dorothy, her dog Toto, the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Man and the Scarecrow through several adventures in Munchkin Land, the Haunted Forest and the Emerald City.

The musical will feature classic songs, including “Over the Rainbow,” “Ding Dong the Witch is Dead” and “If I Only Had A Brain."
