Widespread outages reported in the Midwest, Rockford
Verizon Wireless reported outages across the Midwest, including the Rockford region, on Tuesday morning.
Service stopped working for some users early Tuesday morning. The reason for the outages is currently unknown.
A spokesperson from Verizon says service is slowly coming back for users.
In the case your Verizon-carried phone is still does not have service, you can set up your phone to Wi-Fi connection and calls to pick up service.
If you need to make an emergency 911 call, the Verizon spokesperson says your phone will connect to another carrier for "911" calls. These should only be made in emergency cases.
