Walmart to remodel stores in Rockford, Dixon

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Walmart announced plans to invest $87.5 million in sixteen Illinois stores for renovations.

The plans include upgrades for three Rockford locations and one Dixon location:

-7219 Walton St., Rockford
-3849 Northridge Dr., Rockford
-3902 W. Riverside Blvd., Rockford
-1640 S. Galena Ave., Dixon

“We’re committed to giving our customers the best experience both in store and online, and that starts with making it easy to shop how and when you want,” said Walmart Vice President and Regional General Manager Dale Murphy. “We’re really excited to expand these popular innovations in communities across Illinois.”

According to a news release, Walmart also plans to offer new resources for Walmart stores in Illinois:

-Grocery-pick-up service to 40 stores
-Grocery delivery service to 37 stores
-"Pickup Towers" to 22 stores
-Automated floor scrubbers to 52 stores
-Automated delivery truck unloader to 50 stores

Walmart did not specify which stores would receive these customer-focused upgrades.
