ROCKTON, Ill. (WIFR) -- An effort to bring the first tattoo parlor to the Village of Rockton was denied Monday night after trustees voted down the special use permit that would have put the tattoo shop in the historic downtown district.
Trustees turned down the permit in a 4-2 vote. Village Mayor Dale Adams says some trustees felt the tattoo shop wouldn't be a good fit in the historic district. Several other downtown business owners spoke out against the shop saying it wasn't a good idea. Mayor Adams says the applicant can reapply for another permit and encourages them to look at other locations outside the downtown area.
