Vacant house fire causes $10,000 in damages

No one is hurt after a house catches fire early Friday morning.

Around 2:45 a.m. Rockford Fire crews responded to the 4300 block of Wilshire Avenue for a structure fire. Firefighters reported seeing smoke showing from the front and rear of the single-story home, and quickly contained the flames.

Officials report that no one was there at the time, and the home appeared to be vacant. This is the second fire incident at the property in the past two weeks.
