The Unity Picnic started five years ago, when five churches teamed up after seeing a need for unity in the community. This year the event continues to grow, with over one hundred people coming out to enjoy live music, free food, and an array of outdoor activities.

Organizers for the event say seeing people from all walks of life interacting and getting along is a huge part of what makes the event so successful.

"We really are trying to unify people; we have more in common than we have separate. We really need to realize that we are all human and we all make mistakes but we all have redemption and God loves us, so that’s why we are out here today," said Pastor Jeff Honson.
