ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - Families gathered at the strong neighborhood house on Irving Avenue for the United Way's monthly movie night.
Neighborhood impact manager Matthew Simpson says events like these are a good opportunity for families to come together and have some fun in a safe environment.
Tonight the group watched Coraline. For some viewers, the pizza and movies aren't the best part of the movie night.
"I like that we get to meet different people and we can get to get comfortable with the neighborhood," says movie-goer Nikyia Marzette.
Simpson says during the school year, the United Way hosts homework nights, family nights, and informative nights for adults. As for Nikyia, her favorite movie from past events is Moana.
