Two wanted for murder of Freeport man, arrest warrants issued

FREEPORT, Ill. (WIFR) -- Arrest warrants have been issued for two suspects as Freeport police investigate a murder from Wednesday morning.

The wanted suspects, Javian Adams, 23, and Jennifer J. Adams, 41, are both from Freeport. Police say both were on parole from the Illinois Department of Corrections prior to the 'suspicious' death.

Javian and Jennifer Adams are accused for the death of Thomas Fort, a 45-year-old man who was found dead​ Wednesday morning in the 500 block of Iroquois Street.

Police say Fort was physically assaulted by at least one person in the 600 block of West Stephenson Street earlier that morning.

According to an autopsy, Fort suffered multiple facial injuries, including a fractured jaw. The cause of his death has not yet been determined, but pending a final report from the Stephenson County Coroner's Office.

Javian Adams is wanted on three counts of first-degree murder, aggravated battery and concealment of a homicidal death.

Jennifer Adams is wanted on concealment of homicidal death and obstructing justice.
