Two people rescued from roof after house fire

Two adults are displaced after a fire breaks out at their home Sunday night.

Around 11:45 p.m. Sunday, the Rockford Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 2100 block of Princeton Avenue.

Crews had to rescue two people from the roof of the home, and were able to bring the fire under control in under 12 minutes. The two people were not hurt during the rescue.

The damage of the home is estimated at about $15,000. The Red Cross is now assisting the pair. The cause is still under investigation.
