Two men sentenced on drug charges from Boone County traffic stop

BOONE COUNTY, Ill. (WIFR) -- Two men were sentenced to seven years in prison each on drug charges that stemmed from a Boone County traffic stop.

Joshua Hobson, 32, of Oglesby, Illinois, and Shaun Scardina, 43, of Rockford, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance charges.

Police say Hobson and Scardina were stopped by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office at the Belvidere Oasis.

A three-year period of mandatory supervised release will follow the terms of Hobson and Scardina. Hobson's sentence was enhanced due to his criminal record, according to the Boone County State's Attorney.
