Two men busted for Belvidere car burglaries

BELVIDERE, Ill. (WIFR) -- Two Rockford men are behind bars for allegedly burglarizing several cars Wednesday morning.

Marcus A. Armstrong, 31, and Darrell B. Mackey, 32, are accused of several burglaries in the Prairie Place subdivision in Belvidere.

Belvidere police, Boone County deputies and Illinois State Police were called to the 4100 block of Hearthstone Lane on Wenesday around 1:50 a.m. With help from a police K9 and a drone, officers were able to apprehend both suspects.

Armstrong and Mackey were both face up to seven years in prison for burglary charges. Both were taken to the Belvidere Police Department.

Armstrong and Mackey are considered innocent unless proven guilty by the court of law.
