Two accused cocaine dealers arrested in Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Two people accused of selling cocaine in the Rockford area were arrested Monday night.

Jose L. Guzman, 41, and Marcia C. Robles, 38, were arrested during a traffic stop after authorities found 1.5 kilograms of cocaine in the car.

Guzman and Robles were stopped near North Second Street and Y Boulevard around 6:45 p.m.

The investigation led authorities to a home in the 5700 block of Pepper Drive. Police recovered more than $105,000 in cash, in addition to 5.5 kilograms of cocaine and a loaded handgun.

Police also searched a home in the 700 block of Aura Drive. Officers found another 5.5 kilograms of cocaine and two guns while recovering $14,000 in cash and two cars.

Guzman was charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine (over 900 grams) and possession with intent to deliver cocaine (100-400 grams). Robles was charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine (over 900 grams).

Police say additional charges and arrests are possible. Guzman and Robles are suspects in a narcotics investigation longer than six months.

Guzman and Robles are considered innocent unless proven guilty by the court of law.
