ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Four people were taken into custody and two face charges after an alleged armed robbery of Rockford's Best Buy on Sunday night.

Jakari Smith, 19, and Torrence Lewis, 21, both of Rockford, face aggravated robbery charges. Police say a 16-year-old female was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center for probation violation, while a fourth person was released without charges.

Officers responded to the Best Buy at 281 Deane Drive around 7:30 p.m. after reports of a robbery. Police say a 19-year-old suspect loaded a cart with video game equipment in store.

An employee alleges the suspect implied he had a weapon and took off with the electronics. Police stopped the suspect vehicle, a blue minivan, shortly later around East State Street and Mill Road.

Lewis and Smith were taken to Winnebago County Jail. The suspects are considered innocent unless proven guilty by the court of law.
